A Day in the Life of a Pediatric Dental Assistant: As a Pediatric Dental Assistant at Sweetpea Smiles, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring a high-quality, smooth patient experience in a fast-paced, fun environment. Your responsibilities will include: • Morning Huddle: Arrive at 7:30 a.m. to prepare for the day’s appointments and align with the team. • Patient Care: Escort patients and families, update medical histories, take X-rays, and guide them through their appointments. • Record Keeping: Enter treatment plans, clinical notes, and schedule follow-up appointments. • Office Maintenance: Ensure operatories are stocked, clean, and prepared for each patient. • Chairside Assistance: Support dentists and hygienists during procedures, while effectively communicating pre/post-op instructions. • Patient Flow: Serve 50-70 patients daily, contributing to patient care and enhancing your dental skills. • Team Collaboration: Work alongside a team of 6-10 to manage inventory and provide top-notch care. ________________________________________ What We’re Looking For: This position is ideal for you if: • Passion for Pediatrics: You love working with children and making families feel welcome. • Organized & Detail-Oriented: You’re attentive to detail and committed to delivering exceptional care. • Team Player: You enjoy working with others in a collaborative, positive environment. • Cross-Trained: You’re able to assist both chairside and with front-office duties (e.g., scheduling, patient check-ins, insurance verification). • Current RDA License: You have a valid RDA license (required). • Pediatric/Orthodontic Experience: Previous experience is preferred but not required. • Certifications: Nitrous Oxide and Coronal Polishing certifications are a plus. • Flexible Schedule: You can commit to working Monday–Thursday with half-day Fridays. ________________________________________ This Role May Not Be for You If: • You are not motivated by helping others. • You prefer working independently rather than as part of a team. • You are uncomfortable with new learning opportunities or changes. • You require a quiet, highly structured environment to perform your best. • You are unable to commit to morning huddles or the specified work hours. ________________________________________ What Winning Looks Like: • High patient satisfaction with smooth, on-time experiences. • Meeting hygiene, ortho, reappointment, and case acceptance goals. • Consistently improving dental skills, reflected in high RDA review scores. ________________________________________ What’s Next?
