Our general dental practice specializes in providing exceptional pediatric dentistry to underserved, lower-income children who often lack access to specialized dental care many kids need because of either behavioral issues or the severity of treatment required. Clinical Duties: Assist dentists and hygienists during dental procedures, including restorative, surgical, and cosmetic treatments. Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and ensure equipment is properly maintained. Provide chairside assistance, including suctioning, passing instruments, and managing patient comfort. Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-treatment care, and preventative measures. Patient Care and Communication: Greet and prepare patients for treatment, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment and coordinate follow up care. Address patient questions or concerns, providing clear explanations of procedures and costs. Administrative Duties: Mange inventory of dental supplies, reorder materials, and ensure cost-effective stock levels. Compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and other regulatory standards, including infection control protocols. Assist with patient scheduling, chart management, and billing process as needed. Maintain accurate records of procedures, sterilization logs, and equipment maintenance. Collaborate with the office manager or dentist to implement process improvements or new protocols. Role Responsibilities Education/Certification: Completion of an accredited dental assisting program. Certified dental assistant (CDA) or Registered dental assistant (RDA) credential preferred CPR or BLS, nitrous oxide administration, radiology Experience: Proficiency in dental procedures, equipment, and software (e.g., Dentrix) Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage staff and interact with patients. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to handle clinical and administrative tasks. Attention to detail for maintaining compliance and ensuring patient safety. Knowledge of dental terminology, infection control, and regulatory standards. Work Environment: Setting: Dental office Physical Requirement: Prolonged standing, dexterity for handling instruments, and ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
