Description

Dental Assistant – Private Practice Position Summary We are seeking a friendly, dependable, and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our private dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the dentist in delivering high-quality patient care, maintain a clean and organized clinical environment, and help create a welcoming experience for patients. Key Responsibilities Chairside Assistance Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for dental procedures. Assist the dentist during exams, fillings, extractions, crowns, and other procedures. Anticipate provider needs to ensure smooth patient flow. Patient Care Welcome and prepare patients for treatment, ensuring comfort and reassurance. Provide post-operative instructions and oral hygiene education as directed. Take dental radiographs (X-rays) as permitted by state law. Sterilization & Infection Control Clean, sterilize, and maintain dental instruments and equipment. Follow all OSHA, CDC, and state guidelines for infection control. Administrative Support Update and maintain accurate patient records and charts. Assist with scheduling, billing, or insurance verification as needed. Manage supply inventory and order dental materials. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (required). Completion of a Dental Assistant program or equivalent on-the-job training (preferred). Current state dental assistant certification, license, or radiography permit (as required by state). CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Professional, team-oriented, and patient-focused attitude. Work Environment Small, team-oriented private dental office. Schedule: [Insert typical hours, e.g., Tuesday-Thursday 7am-4:30pm, Friday 7-12pm].
