Welcome to Tooth Tales Pediatric Dentistry & Family Orthodontics! We are looking for the right orthodontic assistant to be a part of our amazing private dental practices with a family environment. The orthodontic assistant should be well-organized with great attention to detail And having the right attitude. We will always do things here respectfully and expect that same respect from you. We want you to be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care and able to make office procedures as smooth as possible. This is a great opportunity to grow both personally and professionally. Must be able to get along well with patients and your team members. ***ORTHODONTIC EXPERIENCE IS A MUST HAVE!! Responsibilities Removing and replacing wires, o-rings, coil springs, donuts, and elastic bands. Proper isolation during orthodontic procedures by using proper suction hose as needed. Maintaining accurate records of patients' oral health histories and treatment progress Ensuring that all orthodontic instruments and equipment are properly sterilized before each use. Taking intraoral X-rays and 3D scanning of patients’ mouths. Taking photographs of patients’ teeth to aid the Orthodontist in developing treatment plans and to document patient progress. Taking impressions of patients’ teeth for the fabrication of customized mouthguards and retainers. Educating patients on proper oral hygiene practices and braces aftercare. Dental software - knowledge of Dolphin Orthodontic software is a plus Taking detailed treatment notes. Experience as a pediatric dental assistant is a PLUS. Skills At least 1 year of proven experience as a dental assistant. Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods Understanding of health & safety regulations Good computer skills Excellent communication and people skills Attention to detail Well-organized and reliable High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is a must Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. EFDA, radiology) Bilingual (English & Spanish) a plus Please take a look at our websites to get to know us: www.mytoothtales.com
