The Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) plays a vital role in supporting the clinical and patient experience at 290 Dental Studio. This position combines clinical excellence with compassionate care — ensuring that each patient visit is efficient, comfortable, and memorable. The ideal candidate is professional, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering a high standard of care in a modern, boutique dental environment. Key Responsibilities: Chairside Assistance: -Prepare treatment rooms and instruments according to OSHA and infection control standards before each patient. -Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, cosmetic, surgical, and hygiene appointments. -Anticipate the dentist’s needs to ensure smooth and efficient patient care. -Take high-quality digital X-rays, intraoral photos, and digital scans as required. -Mix and prepare dental materials such as cements, composites, and impression materials. -Ensure patient comfort throughout procedures by offering reassurance, explanations, and attentive care. Clinical Efficiency & Sterilization: -Maintain strict adherence to sterilization and infection control protocols. -Disinfect and set up operatories quickly and efficiently between patients. -Organize, maintain, and restock all clinical supplies and materials. -Perform weekly maintenance and documentation of sterilization equipment and handpieces. Patient Experience: -Provide patients with clear post-operative instructions and ensure understanding before they leave. -Build rapport and trust through compassionate communication and professionalism. -Support the practice’s commitment to a luxury, high-touch experience — every detail matters. -Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure HIPAA compliance at all times. Digital Dentistry & Technology: -Operate modern dental technologies, including digital radiography, intraoral scanners (e.g., iTero/Trios), and photography systems. -Assist in capturing before-and-after photos for cosmetic cases. -Support the dentist in smile design and cosmetic workflow cases when needed. Team Collaboration: -Communicate effectively with the dentist, hygienist, and front office to ensure a seamless patient flow. -Participate in daily huddles and team meetings to review patient cases, goals, and schedules. -Assist in training new assistants or interns as needed, embodying a culture of mentorship and growth. -Demonstrate flexibility by helping other departments (e.g., sterilization or front office) as needed. Qualifications: (Required) -Current Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license in the State of Texas. -Current CPR/BLS certification. -Minimum 1 year of clinical dental assisting experience. -Working knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and infection control protocols. -Strong communication skills, professionalism, and positive attitude. (Preferred) -Experience in cosmetic and restorative dentistry. -Familiarity with Open Dental software and digital scanning systems. -Nitrous oxide monitoring certification (or willingness to obtain). -Radiology certification and coronal polishing certification.
