High-Performance Environment Join a seasoned surgical team with 3 assistants per pod and dedicated nursesAssist in bread-and-butter oral surgery: implants, wisdom teeth, IV sedation, and consultationsWork in spacious, fully equipped operatories with 3D imaging, CBCT, and digital chartingCompetitive Compensation & Benefits Pay Rate: $18-23/hour, depending on experience and certificationFull Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, life insurance, disabilityPaid Time Off: 3 weeks PTO + 8 paid holidays1-hour daily lunch break: 1-2pm dailyCareer Development & Stability On-the-job training, support, and mentorshipContinuing Education (CE) opportunities to sharpen your surgical assisting skillsWork across two state-of-the-art locations: Albany (10 operatories) and Latham (5 operatories)Strong referral base and high patient volume means no shortage of hands-on experience  Locations: Albany Office - 7 Southwoods Blvd, Suite 1, Albany, NY 12211 Latham Office - 11 Century Hill Drive, Suite 200, Latham, NY 12110   Schedule: 4 days in Albany, 1 day in Latham | Monday-Thursday 8am-4pm, Friday 8am-2pm   Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities : Prepare surgical rooms, instruments, and patient charts in advance of proceduresAssist chairside during oral surgery procedures including sedation, extractions, and implant placementsMonitor and update patient vitals, comfort, and post-op recovery instructionsSterilize and maintain instruments following strict surgical protocolsCoordinate inventory of surgical supplies and track implant materialsSupport the surgeon and anesthesia team with setup and procedural assistanceProvide detailed pre- and post-operative instructions to patients and caregiversMaintain electronic records, chart treatment notes, and assist with digital imaging as needed  What We’re Looking For: High school diploma or equivalent (required)Completion of a CODA-accredited dental assistant program (preferred)Oral Surgery Assistant Certification (preferred)DANB, ICE, RHS certifications (state-dependent)Valid CPR/BLS certificationMinimum of 1 year of chairside dental assisting experience (required | oral surgery preferred)Excellent communication skills and calm presence in surgical environmentsA team-oriented mindset with high attention to detail  Interview Process: 1 phone interview1 in-person interview with clinical tour  About CDOMS Capital District Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons is a premier surgical practice proudly serving the Albany and Latham communities.
