Lake Dental is a private general dental practice seeking a part-time Registered Dental Hygienist. Our practice is patient centered and our mission is quality care and personal service. Our office is completely digital so we expect the perfect fit for our office to have excellent technological skills and high proficiency with typing for entering of digital charting, digital notes, and probing’s. In our office our hygienists focus on cleaning teeth, educating and advising patients on oral health and preventative care. As a Dental Hygienist, you should be reliable and able to build trust with our patient base. Responsibilities: Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible Sterilize dental instruments properly and disinfect the operatory between patients. Follow proper infection control protocols at all times Conduct oral cancer screenings Provide accurate probing depths and maintain a timely record for periodontal probing’s. Identify (not diagnose) conditions like gingivitis, caries, broken teeth or periodontal disease. Clean and help protect patients’ teeth (ie: remove plaque and calculus, apply fluoride and sealants) Educate patients of all ages on oral health (by show, tell, do) Give post-op instructions Take accurate digital radiographs (vertical bitewings for periodontal patients, to show bone level and open contacts on bitewings for accurate interproximal caries detection). Discuss outstanding treatment needs Maintain and schedule hygiene recall appointments Maintain accurate and thorough documentation and charting on each patient Monitor hygiene supplies Call unscheduled re-care during down time. Skills: Understanding of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA, OSHA, infection control protocols, etc) Technological skills with digital charting, digital x-rays, and typing Preparing and maintaining dental equipment Outstanding verbal and written communication skills A patient and friendly personality Attention to detail Positive and Professional Demeanor Outstanding Customer Service Skills Good time management skills Team player Dependable Self-motivated Education/License: Associates or Bachelor’s degree from an approved Dental Hygiene program.
