Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive clinical expertise, and a comprehensive understanding of dental procedures and systems. This role offers an opportunity to oversee daily clinical operations, support the dental team, and ensure exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should have a solid background in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and infection control protocols. Proficiency with EMR systems Open Dental is essential. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards is required to maintain patient confidentiality and compliance. Duties: Supervise and coordinate the activities of dental assisting staff to ensure efficient clinic operations. Perform chairside assisting during various dental procedures including restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take and develop X-rays and other medical imaging while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control standards. Manage electronic health records using EMR systems such as Opendental; ensure accurate documentation of medical records and coding. Assist with patient intake by recording vital signs, medical history, and ensuring proper medical documentation. Support the dental team in maintaining a sterile environment through infection control practices. Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral health maintenance using appropriate dental terminology. Oversee the use of advanced technology such as 3D scanners and ensure proper operation of all dental equipment. Collaborate with dentists on treatment planning for complex cases including pediatrics, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Serve as a liaison between patients and the dental team to enhance patient experience and satisfaction. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with strong knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a dental setting preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems including Opendental; familiarity with medical coding is a plus. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and best practices for patient confidentiality. Skilled in chairside assisting across various specialties such as pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and implant procedures. Experience with X-ray techniques, medical imaging, vital signs measurement, and aseptic techniques. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control protocols, and medical terminology related to dentistry. Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about their oral health.
