Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant II to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional chair side assistance, support clinical operations, and ensure a safe and efficient environment for both patients and staff. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, infection control protocols, and medical documentation, with a focus on pediatric and general dentistry. The Dental Assistant II will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards. Duties -Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments - Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are upheld -Take and develop X-rays using digital imaging systems such as 3D scanners and other medical imaging equipment - Record vital signs and medical history information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic - Manage patient flow efficiently as a dental receptionist when needed, including scheduling appointments and updating medical records -Ensure proper documentation of procedures using appropriate dental terminology and medical coding practices -Maintain sterilization protocols and assist with infection control procedures to ensure a safe clinical environment -Support pediatric dentistry patients by providing compassionate care tailored to children’s needs -Operate EMR systems effectively for data entry, charting, and medical documentation purposes -Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care instructions Skills -Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic, or similar EMR systems -Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security -Experience with dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry, chairside assisting, and aseptic technique -Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards -Familiarity with dental terminology related to general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, pediatrics, and anatomy knowledge - Capable of taking vital signs accurately and supporting medical imaging procedures - Knowledge of infection control protocols and sterilization procedures in a dental clinic setting -Experience working with pediatric patients is preferred but not required - Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with the dental team and educate patients about oral health practices This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment dedicated to providing outstanding patient care.
