Description
Dental Assistant – Join a Small, Ethical Private Practice Focused on Genuine Patient Care We are a small, private dental practice in Los Alamitos, CA dedicated to providing excellent, personalized care in a calm, unhurried environment. Unlike corporate offices with rushed schedules and impersonal interactions, we prioritize quality over quantity. We accept only PPO insurance and cash patients. This allows us to provide thorough, ethical treatment for every individual. Our doctor is highly ethical, values integrity in all aspects of care, and fosters a supportive team atmosphere where everyone contributes meaningfully. We are seeking a reliable, compassionate Dental Assistant to join our close-knit team. Highlights: Occasional OT at 1.5x, 40 hours paid sick leave (CA-required), great work-life balance (only 3 weekdays + 1 Sat/month), supportive ethical team, no corporate rush. Schedule: • Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (full days 8:00 am - 5:00 pm) • 1 Saturday per month (8:00 am - 1:00 pm) • Overtime if needed, but no more than ~30-40 minutes daily (This provides excellent work-life balance with a predictable, non-corporate rhythm—no late nights or constant high-volume pressure.) Key Responsibilities: • Chairside assisting during procedures (general dentistry focus) • Preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and maintaining infection control standards • Taking digital X-rays (if certified) and patient records • Greeting patients, ensuring comfort, and providing post-op instructions • Assisting with administrative tasks as needed (e.g., room turnover, supply inventory) • Supporting the doctor in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care What We're Looking For: • Dental assisting experience preferred, at least 4 years (we're open to training the right person with less experience but who can get along and has a willingness to learn) • Certification (CDA/RDA) and X-ray/radiology certification a plus (state requirements apply) • Positive, team-oriented mindset with excellent patient rapport and communication skills • Detail-oriented, reliable, and committed to ethical practices • Skilled at helping patients feel at ease in a non-rushed setting • Someone who desires to grow with our office long term Why Join Us? • Work in a supportive, family-like environment with a doctor who truly cares • Enjoy a slower, more meaningful pace—focus on doing things right, not rushing through patients • Opportunity for growth, continuing education support, and long-term stability • No corporate metrics or burnout culture • $26/hour starting (DOE) + 40 hours paid sick leave per year (per CA law) • If you're tired of high-pressure offices and want to be part of a practice that values ethics, quality care, and team well-being, we'd love to hear from you! Requirements: • Must be authorized to work in the United States • Must have at least 4 years of dental chairside assisting • Reliable transportation • Ability to stand and sit for long periods How to Apply: Please send your resume and a brief introduction about yourself to our email address [sign in to DentalPost to see current contact info].
