Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice who is also cross trained to work the front desk when needed. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our dental team and ensuring a comfortable experience for our patients. This role requires proficiency in various dental procedures and a strong understanding of dental systems and protocols. Our hours are Monday-Thursday 7:00-3:00 with an occasional Friday. Our second location is in Burgess, this position requires travel two days a week. Responsibilities: Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, including prosthodontics, and general dentistry practices. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary materials are ready for procedures. Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy. Utilize dental software systems such as Dentrix, Dexis, and Open Dental for scheduling appointments, managing patient information, and billing processes. Operate 3D scanners for imaging and assist in the creation of dental appliances as needed. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Ensure a clean and organized work environment, adhering to aseptic techniques at all times. Collaborate with the dental team to improve workflow efficiency and enhance patient care. Requirements Proven experience in dental assisting is preferred; familiarity with general dentistry is a plus. Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality. Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Dentrix, Dexis and Open Dental is highly desirable. Ability to operate a 3D scanner effectively is an advantage. Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and comfort. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accurate record keeping and efficient workflow. Certification in Dental Assisting or equivalent training is preferred but not mandatory.
