Join our dynamic dental team as an Orthodontic Dental Assistant, where your expertise will help transform smiles and boost confidence! In this vital role, you will work at our 2 area Houston locations supporting our orthodontist, delivering exceptional patient care by providing efficient chairside assistance & managing ortho procedures. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will contribute to creating a welcoming environment for patients of all ages. Our office is fast paced & offers a supportive setting dedicated to excellence in dental health. Must be Bilingual in Spanish. We look forward to hearing from you! Responsibilities *Assist orthodontists during various procedures including bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance fittings with precision and care. *Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary tools, and maintaining aseptic technique standards. *Take and develop X-ray images, ensuring proper positioning and adherence to infection control protocols while maintaining patient safety. *Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems with Open Dental, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with *HIPAA regulations. *Educate patients on orthodontic care instructions, appliance maintenance, and oral hygiene practices tailored for pediatric dentistry. *Collaborate seamlessly with the dental team through four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize patient comfort and treatment efficiency. Experience: *Prior experience working in orthodontics is required. *Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and understanding of anatomy relevant to oral health is essential. *Familiarity with Open Dental software. *Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures to ensure patient safety. *Hands-on experience with chairside assisting, including taking vital signs and supporting general dentistry procedures like endodontics or prosthodontics is beneficial. *Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including 3D scanners and X-ray machines confidently. *Strong communication skills combined with a professional attitude are key to providing excellent patient care across diverse age groups.
