Description

Looking to add Dental Assistant to our committed, organized, and fun team!! We are a technically advanced, service oriented office. We are looking for the right person to join our team full or part time 2-4 days a week. Must be self motivated, able to take direction, comfortable with change, and committed to continuing education. We provide ideal dentistry in an enjoyable environment. Fee for Service private practice in Richmond, Texas. Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: • Standing/Walking 60% • Sitting 40% • Moderate noise levels from dental and other Lab equipment • Medical, office, and lab setting • Minimum lifting requirements of 35 pounds in order to transfer equipment and pack and unpack supplies. • Frequent bending, twisting, and position changes in order to examine and service patients. • Exceptional hand eye coordination and control in order to use dental implements for exams, to provide dentist assistance, and mixing and/or placing materials on dental tools, products, and in mouths. • Frequent client and interoffice personnel interaction as this position is chair-side to dentist and heavily dependent on excellent customer interaction. • Near Vision - The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer) as required for mixing and placing materials on tools and in mouths. Essential Functions: • Manage dental and medical emergencies according to OSHA and office procedures including: Maintain CPR certification o Maintain Emergency drug and oxygen supply o Knowledge of Emergency procedures and protocols • Fabricate temporary crowns that satisfy office standards for appearance and quality. • Keeping track of clinical inventory and supplies, following procedure notifying when a supply is low or needs to be ordered • Provide diagnostic information by exposing radiographic studies; pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts to lab and office standards. • Fabricate temporary restorations; cleaning and polishing removable appliances. • Timely prepare treatment area by sterilizing, positioning, and delivering instruments for dentist’s access. • Actively provide suctioning and hand instruments to Dentist, as needed, during exams and procedures in order to help maintain patient comfort and Dentist’s efficiency. Being “present” during treatment, engaging the patient as well as paying attention to Dentist’s need during procedure. • Proficient use of intra oral and DSLR cameras for clinical documentation and case presentations. • Selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments and in the patient’s mouth, as needed. • Appropriate sterilization according to office policies. • Unpacking and tracking lab cases, communication with labs as needed and appropriate. • Understanding and effectively implementing appointment booking to help practice reach its daily goal. • Learn to operate new office technologies as they are developed and implemented. • Have extensive knowledge of current CDT (Current Dental Terminology) codes, when to use them appropriately, and how to maximize reimbursements correctly and ethically for always “coding what we do”. • Manage asepsis, infection, using and maintaining hazard control protocols as established by OSHA and office standards. • Must always represent the practice in a professional, pleasant, and cooperative manner. • Must maintain regular, consistent and punctual attendance in accordance with core policies and time off policies. • Must be able to comfortably and efficiently handle multiple deadlines and task assignments. • Must be able to work both independently and cooperatively in team settings. • Must be able to use practice software proficiently, including but not limited to: scheduling appointments and taking/posting payments from patients. • Rotate phone coverage duty with other team members. • Review records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with regulations and office procedures. •Experience and Education: Current Certificate- Registered Dental Assistant license and maintenance of license as well as continuing education hours, HIPAA, OSHA, CPR and Nitrous oxide monitoring training. Current Texas DA licence needed. Nitrous certification and experience a plus. Office is fee for service with amazing team! Knowledge of Dentrix , willing to cross train as well as help out wherever needed. 401K and health plan available as well as bonus system in place. Working experience a plus.
