Overview Our fun, family-focused new pediatric dental office is looking for a compassionate and energetic Dental Assistant to join our team! Duties -Assist the dentist during pediatric dental procedures -Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials and sterilized equipment -Take dental X-rays -Be familiar with nitrous oxide -Record accurate medical history and documentation in electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix Ascend -Educate children and parents on oral hygiene practices, dental terminology, and post-treatment care -Maintain a clean and organized environment -Manage appointment scheduling, patient records and assist the dental receptionist with administrative tasks as needed -**Willing to negotiate pay based on experience** Skills -Proficiency with EMR systems like Dentrix Ascend (not required) -Knowledge of pediatric dental procedures, anatomy, terminology and infection control practices -Experience with X-ray techniques in a pediatric population -Familiarity with HIPAA regulations for safeguarding patient information and medical coding standards -Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly to young patients and their families If you are caring, dependable, and like making kids smile, we’d love to meet you!
