Title: Registered Dental Assistant - General Dentistry Signing bonus offered - $1000 Monday - Thursday 7am to 4pm - General Dentistry *401K matching up a 4% *Free dental for employees, spouse and children *Paid holidays *Paid vacation Job Summary: Registered Dental Assistant performs duties such as: prepares the patient for treatment, assists the Dentist in performing patient treatment, is familiar with patients and their dental care while providing support and compassion to each person. Provides excellent care to all patients regardless of ethnic, religion and economic status. Job Duties: 1) Greets patients in waiting area and escorts patient to the operatory. (2) Assists the dentist in the administration of treatment at the chair side as required or directed by the dentist. (3) Promotes an atmosphere supportive of good dental health by demonstrating good oral hygiene and when necessary, instructs patients in techniques of flossing and brushing. (4) Maintains a sterile and neat working environment. (5) Reviews patient health history, charting patient notes as necessary, and per the instruction of the dentist. (6) Assumes the responsibility associated with any expanded duties that may be delegated by the dentist. (7) Familiar with the Dentrix & Dexis software systems, (8) Stocks and sterilizes your operatory. Sterilizes instrumentation for the use of all dental procedures with the Dentist. (9) Reviews daily schedule to set up appropriate trays and instruments. (10) Works kindly and willingly with the team. (11) Capable of taking x-rays with a nomad & Pano machine. (12) Communicates with the Dentist to ensure appropriate level of supplies are ordered. (13) Able to fabricate temporary crowns efficiently. (14) Removes excess cement from supra-gingival surfaces of teeth with hand instrument or floss. (15) Competent in sizing & adjusting porcelain crowns. (16) Competent in seating temporary & permanent crowns. (17) Prepares cementation of permanent and temporary crowns and the removal of temporary crowns. Orthodontic experience is a plus but not required. (18) Capable of removing orthodontic bands and/or other appliances per the instruction of the orthodontist. (19) Capable of placing orthodontic separators. (20) Capable of placing arch wire in the orthodontic bracket and can secure the ligature. Education and Experience: Certification as a Registered Dental Assistant required. High school graduate (or GED). Proof of completing radiation safety course At least two years' experience as a registered dental assistant is required. Demonstrates overall knowledge of dental health education. Able to notate patient notes professionally and grammatically. Possesses a calm disposition and is able to work easily with others. Responsible To: Dentist Classification: Full Time
