Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities - Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow. - Prepare and maintain the treatment area, including sterilization of instruments and adherence to infection control protocols. - Take dental X-rays and ensure proper documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. - Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Open Dental and Dexis ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. - Conduct chairside assisting duties, including preparing materials for procedures and providing support to the dentist as needed. - Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging when required. - Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. - Maintain an organized dental clinic environment that promotes efficiency and patient comfort. Skills - Proficient in using EMR systems, particularly Open Dental and Dexis. - Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality. - Experience with general dentistry, prosthodontics, and medical terminology is preferred. - Ability to perform four-handed dentistry effectively while assisting the dentist during procedures. - Competence in taking X-rays and utilizing 3D scanners for dental imaging. - Strong understanding of dental terminology and anatomy knowledge relevant to dental practices. - Familiarity with infection control practices and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment. - Previous experience as a dental assistant is preferred, but not mandatory.
