Assistant of Awesomeness Job Posting
Dr. Leslie Blackburn
Job Description
About the Practice
Since 1986, our dental office has proudly stood as the very first pediatric dental practice in The Woodlands, fostering a legacy of compassionate care for young patients. In 2014, I stepped into this vibrant practice, gradually taking on greater responsibilities until I became the sole pediatric dentist in 2017, acquiring it from the original owner who continued to contribute her expertise until 2022. Our mission is clear: to guide children through their dental journeys with confidence, eliminating fear and anxiety at every visit. Speed and efficiency are at the heart of our approach. We understand that swift, seamless care not only enhances patient comfort but also builds trust and encourages regular visits. To achieve this, we prioritize teamwork and cultivate a positive work environment where every team member anticipates the needs of others, allowing our days to flow smoothly and productively. Our dedicated team includes three front-desk professionals, four dental assistants, one full-time hygienist, and two part-time hygienists, ensuring we can manage two full columns of hygiene appointments daily, supplemented by 1.5 columns of operative treatments. This setup allows us to deliver comprehensive, high-quality care without compromising on speed or attention to detail. We embrace modern dental technology, integrating laser dentistry into our practice for precise, comfortable treatments. When those methods fall short, we utilize advanced intra-osseous injections for effective anesthesia, ensuring that even complex procedures are handled with the utmost care and minimal discomfort. As someone deeply passionate about dental advancements, I am committed to continually upgrading our equipment and techniques, ensuring that our practice remains at the forefront of pediatric dentistry. Our goal is to make every visit not just a check-up, but a positive step toward a lifetime of healthy smiles.
About the Role
We. Have. FUN!!! First, we work with kiddos and they are often uplifting and hilarious. Then, we have a great crew that gets along well -- so we enjoy coming to work and helping the families we get to help. I rotate assistants between hygiene and op (on a monthly basis) to keep things fresh so it doesn't get boring. We move FAST, but usually end on time (working over makes me feel sad). If you like a fast pace and are looking for a workplace that becomes like a second home, we'd love to chat!
