What You'll Do
- Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review
- Take and interpret dental imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment plans tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in Dentrix
- Follow strict infection control procedures using aseptic techniques to ensure patient and staff safety in compliance with HIPAA regulations
What You'll Bring
Required
- Previous experience working in a dental office or clinic setting is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and dental coding to accurately document procedures
- Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Dentrix for scheduling, record keeping, and documentation review
- Strong understanding of infectious control protocols, sterilization procedures, and aseptic technique standards
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse age groups including pediatrics
- Experience in chair side assisting combined with solid foundation in general dentistry practices will set you apart
