Temporary Assignment Overview: - Maternity Leave - Three Month Assignment
Seeking a skilled contract Dental Assistant to provide temporary chairside support in a busy dental practice located in Charlotte, NC 28269. This in-person contract opportunity is ideal for an experienced professional with expanded functions and a strong background in general and specialty dental procedures.
Deliverables, Timeline & Success Criteria:
Consistent, high-quality chairside assistance throughout the temporary assignment
Accurate and timely completion of patient charting and documentation
Proper fabrication and placement of temporary crowns and other dental appliances as required
Strict compliance with infection control and sterilization standards
Assignment duration and daily schedule to be determined based on practice needs; flexibility required
Success will be measured by positive feedback from supervising dentists, adherence to clinical protocols, and completion of all assigned tasks within the agreed timeframe
What You'll Do
- Assist the dentist chairside during a variety of procedures, including crowns, dentures, orthodontics, and surgery
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms and instruments, ensuring strict adherence to sterilization and infection control protocols
- Take and process dental X-rays as needed
- Perform patient charting and assist with treatment planning
- Fabricate and place temporary crowns
- Support patient care by providing dental prophylaxis and oral hygiene instructions
- Utilize Dentrix software for patient records and charting
What You'll Bring
Required
- 2 years of experience
- Current certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or Certified Dental Assistant (CDA)
- X-Ray certification required
- Proficiency in chairside assisting for crowns, dentures, orthodontics, and surgical procedures
- Strong knowledge of infection control, sterilization, and dental charting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
- Excellent communication, organization, and patient care skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, in-person clinical environment
