As a member of our hygiene team, you play an important role in achieving that goal. The dental hygienist is much more than the person who cleans teeth - you are an essential part of our patients' overall dental health and an important member of our clinical team.
What You'll Do
- performing comprehensive dental hygiene appointments
- reviewing and updating medical and dental histories
- taking and reviewing appropriate dental radiographs as permitted by your training and PA Licensure
- performing periodontal assessments, including probing and periodontal charting
- evaluating gingival and periodontal health
- providing thorough prophylaxis and periodontal maintenance
- providing appropriate periodontal therapy based on the patient's condition and the dentist's treatment plan
- applying fluoride and other preventative treatments when indicated
- providing oral hygiene instructions tailored to each patient's individual needs
- educating patients about periodontal disease, carries prevention, home care, nutrition, and the importance of regular dental visits
- identifying areas of concern and communicating findings to the dentist
- documenting all clinical findings, treatment, patient education, and recommendations accurately in the paitent's chart
- recognizing changes in the patient's oral health and bringing significant findings to the dentist's attention
- maintaining proper infection control and sterilization procedures
- working efficiently while never sacrificing quality of care or patient comfort
What You'll Bring
