POSITION PURPOSE
Northern Texas Facial & Oral Surgery is seeking a professional, dependable, and patient-focused Patient Care Coordinator to join our Flower Mound team.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and an effective communicator who is comfortable managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced oral surgery environment. This position serves as an important point of contact for our patients and referring offices and plays a key role in maintaining efficient scheduling, communication, and daily front-office operations.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Patient Interaction & Phone Support: Professionally manage incoming calls, assist patients with questions, schedule appointments, and create patient accounts.
- Referral Coordination: Contact referred patients promptly, assist with scheduling, and follow up on outstanding referrals to help ensure patients receive timely care.
- Referring Office Communication: Communicate with referring offices regarding patient referrals, appointments, records, X-rays, and other information needed to coordinate patient care.
- Appointment Management: Schedule and confirm appointments, maintain accurate scheduling information, and follow up with patients regarding appointment changes or rescheduling.
- Chart Preparation: Prepare and review patient charts prior to appointments to ensure registration is complete and required referrals, X-rays, and supporting documentation are received and on file.
- Front Office Support: Check patients in, collect and post payments, maintain accurate patient information, and assist with additional front-office responsibilities.
- Surgery Coordination: Assist with scheduling surgical procedures and ensure necessary information and preparations are completed.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits and ensure necessary insurance information is obtained prior to appointments.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with surgeons, clinical staff, and administrative team members to support efficient patient flow and provide a seamless patient experience.
- Versatility & Adaptability: Assist with additional responsibilities as needed and remain flexible to the evolving needs of the practice.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous oral surgery, dental, medical, patient scheduling, referral coordination, or insurance verification experience preferred**
- Strong phone and customer service skills with the ability to professionally manage multiple incoming calls.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and follow through on assigned tasks.
- Comfortable working independently and taking initiative in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional and patient-focused when interacting with patients, referring offices, and team members.
- Dependable, team-oriented, and receptive to training and feedback.
- Willingness to adapt to changing responsibilities and practice needs.
