We are looking to add another team member to our amazing team.
The duties of our front desk coordinator will include being able to handle checking in and out patients, scheduling their next recare/recall and treatment appointments with consistency.
It is critical that in order to be able to do this effectively that insurance breakdowns can be completed quickly and accurately.
Furthermore, we do need our front desk to be able to predict accurate copay estimations during treatment plan presentations. It is most critical that he/she is able to follow up on claims and resolve billing issues with self motivation.
Entering insurance payments, understanding explanation of benefits and following up on collections are also one of the basic duties in this role.
The right candidate with the right capacity and eagerness to learn is encouraged to apply even if your experience and knowledge base is still growing. It is critical to be a team player and have a strong work ethic.
Ideally our new member would have at least 1 year of dental experience. Training is available as long as we have identified you as knowing the common basics tasks of a front desk coordinator.
The days of employment will Tuesday-Friday and two Mondays/Saturdays a month.
Each month we close 1 Tuesday per month.
We have our members start promptly at 7:50 am to be ready for the first patient at 8 am. Our last patient should be checking out about 5pm on weekdays and the day ends when accounts and billing are closed for the day. On Saturdays we work from 8am - 3pm.
Weekdays would include 1 hour lunch and 30 minute lunch on Saturdays.
Pending on the need we may request that you work at either of our locations which are only 7 minutes from each other.
Our perks include:
-in-house dental insurance after 3 months of employment
- health insurance contributions after 6 months of employment
- 401k contributions after 1 year of employment with employer matching incentive.
- 3 sick days are provided per year
- company sponsored CE courses and events throughout the year.
Our office culture is to work hard but to have fun at the same time. We spend as much time at work as we spend at our home and want our staff to be taken care of through their career as our work family is as important as our own family.
Please email back or call to apply. We do require 3 professional recommendations from your previous dental employers (preferably doctors) to verify your work history.

About the Practice
At Compass Dental Arts, every patient interaction begins with a warm, welcoming voice — the same voice that makes each visit feel personal, comfortable, and caring. Located in North San Jose, our practice is a family-friendly space where relationships are just as important as dental health. Led by the collaborative expertise of husband-and-wife dentists Dr. Monica Wu and Dr. David Ka Lai, we take pride in getting to know each person who walks through our doors. Our office is also proud to be dog-friendly, making every visit as stress-free as possible for both patients and their furry companions.
We are currently seeking a Front Desk Patient Care Coordinator who thrives on connecting with people and enjoys the thoughtful planning that keeps our days running smoothly. In this role, you’ll be the first point of contact for patients — offering reassurance to someone nervous about their first visit, finding the perfect appointment time for a busy parent, or catching a scheduling oversight before it becomes an issue. Your ability to coordinate with dentists, hygienists, and assistants ensures that each patient leaves knowing exactly what to expect next.
If you enjoy building meaningful relationships, managing details with care, and being a reliable presence on your team, you’ll fit right in at Compass Dental Arts. We value community involvement and regularly participate in pro bono dental work and dental society initiatives. Our monthly team meetings are more than just updates — they’re opportunities to share ideas, reflect on what’s working, and continually improve the experience we offer to our patients and each other. If this sounds like a place where you’d thrive, we’d love to hear from you and learn more about what brings you joy in working with people.
