The Orthodontic Assistant is responsible for assisting doctors in providing treatment and completing lab work under the direction of the doctor(s). The Orthodontic Assistants assist the Lead Assistant in the completion of duties, including, but not limited to, the organization and maintenance of equipment, instruments, and supplies.
-Clinical Assisting
-Perform cleaning/sterilization and maintainence of clinics
-Update and maintain patient's dental records
-Document treatment and write treatment notes
-Obtain x-rays, intraoral and extraoral photos, digital scans, impressions, etc.
-Prepare and set up for patient's treatment with correct instruments needed according to procedure
-Other duties as needed
Required Education and Experience:
-High school diploma or equivalent required
-Must have one year of experience in a Dental and/or Orthodontics office.
-Experience working with orthodontic management software (i.e. Dolphin Management) preferred
-Knowledge and/or x-ray certification preferred
-Knowledge of dental terminology preferred
-Must possess a high degree of interpersonal relations skills and capability of relating to a variety of people and personalities
-Must possess a high level of flexibility and tolerance to adjust to changes in work loads and assignments
-Valid driver’s license is required
Schedule:
8AM-5PM Monday through Thursday (Fridays as needed)
*Trussville Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday
*Odenville Wednesday
