The Job:
• Your job is primarily to assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures, including but not limited to composite fillings, crowns, bridges, dentures, and implant restorations.
• Prepare patients for treatment, ensuring their comfort and addressing any questions or concerns.
• Take and process dental radiographs (x-rays) as required.
• Manage infection control - prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Provide patients with postoperative instructions and oral healthcare education.
• Assist with taking impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth).
• Perform administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, maintaining dental records, and billing.
• Ensure the treatment area is safe and well-stocked for each patient's visit.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited dental assisting program.
• Current Dental Assistant certification (Texas).
• Radiology certification, as per state guidelines.
• Previous experience in a dental office, especially in restorative procedures, preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational abilities.
• Compassionate and able to work with patients of all ages.
