Dental HygienistPerdido Family DentistryPensacola, FL 32507We are looking for a hygienist to join our team at Perdido Family Dentistry! We are a privately owned one-doctor practice, focused on preventive and restorative dentistry. New patient appointments are scheduled for 2 hours while recall appointments are scheduled for 1 hour. The doctor has a proactive treatment philosophy with the goal of diagnosing and treating problems early. We are focused on quality over quantity. Hygienists in our office are treating mild to moderate cases of periodontitis with non-surgical periodontal therapy. Hygienists at our office also perform tooth whitening and sealants in addition to diagnostic and preventive services including radiographs, periodontal charting, prophylaxis, fluoride, and patient education.
The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a desire to provide 5-star service to patients. We begin our day at 7:30 am and typically finish around 5:00 pm. We are looking for someone to work 3-4 days per week with Friday through Sunday off.
Duties:
- Conduct thorough dental hygiene treatments, including scaling, polishing, and administering local anesthesia as necessary.
- Assist the dentist with procedures, such as fillings, extractions, and crowns.
- Provide education and instructions to patients on oral hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical documentation of patient visits, including medical history, treatment plans, and test results.
- Utilize medical terminology to effectively communicate with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Participate in pediatric and geriatric dentistry and work with patients of all ages to ensure their oral health and comfort.
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols to prevent the spread of disease and maintain a clean environment for patients.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
- Demonstrate proficiency with dental systems and technology, including open dental software.
- Practice four-handed dentistry, working alongside the dentist to ensure seamless and efficient patient care.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including assistants and the doctor, to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest dental techniques and technologies, participating in continuing education and professional development opportunities as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service, responding to patient needs and concerns in a friendly and professional manner.

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
