- Oversight of a team of individuals who ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP and applicable accounting policies.
- Perform detailed reconciliations reviews for balance sheet accounts monthly
- Responsible for ensuring the monthly close process is executed timely and all balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately.
- Ensure compensation expenditure reporting is accurate and distributed timely
- Lead the coordination of accounting duties for captive insurance and benefit audits.
- Respond to requests for audit items for the company’s external financial audit.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual financial statement close reporting including preparation of footnotes with proper support
- Management of process improvement initiatives
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners
- Assist with system design and implementations when appropriate
Must be able to work onsite at least once a month and reside within driving distance of either Indianapolis, IN or Effingham, IL.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other finance related degree required.- 5+ years of experience in an accounting or finance accounting role.
- Ability to learn and master accounting concepts and in-depth understanding of US GAAP
- Ability to maintain a monthly checklist of activities, complete tasks as necessary and ask questions when needed.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills – ability to identify discrepancies, perform research therein, and work toward resolution.
