About Us We are a reputable, patient-focused Oral Surgery practice in Atlanta, GA, committed to delivering high-quality care with integrity and compassion. We are seeking a personable, professional, and experienced Treatment Coordinator to join our administrative team. This individual will be responsible for both treatment planning and insurance coordination to ensure a seamless patient experience. Position Summary The Treatment Coordinator serves as a vital link between patients, providers, and insurers. This position ensures accurate treatment planning, financial presentation, insurance verification, billing, and patient follow-up. A background in oral surgery and proficiency in Open Dental software is required. Essential Responsibilities Create and present treatment plans with accurate cost estimates and scheduling. Verify dental insurance benefits and enter data into Open Dental. Submit and follow up on pre-authorizations and insurance claims in a timely manner. Conduct financial consultations with all new patients and discuss payment options. Post patient and insurance payments and ensure ledgers reflect accurate services rendered. Track and follow up on outstanding claims and unpaid patient balances according to practice protocol. Build trust and rapport with patients by addressing concerns clearly and compassionately. Greet and check in/out patients, schedule appointments, and answer incoming calls as needed. Communicate with third-party financing companies and educate patients on available options. Maintain the Treatment Tracker Report and review pending treatment daily. Required Qualifications Minimum 2-3 years of experience in dental/oral surgery treatment coordination and insurance billing Key Performance Indicators met on daily, weekly and monthly basis including: follow through with claims and collections Proficiency with Open Dental software is required Strong knowledge of PPO insurance plans, billing codes, and verification procedures Excellent verbal and written communication skills with patients and team members Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities Preferred Attributes Ability to create a warm, welcoming environment for patients Strong critical thinking and independent problem-solving ability High emotional intelligence and a team-first attitude Passion for patient education and exceptional customer service.
