Introduction: We are a growing pediatric dental practice dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to our young patients. Our Fee-for-Service office is looking for a compassionate, skilled, and reliable Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Pediatric Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting both our dentists and hygienists to ensure exceptional care, comfort, and a positive experience for our patients. Responsibilities: Assist Dentist and Hygienists: Support the dentist in performing a wide range of treatments, including fillings, crowns, extractions, and other dental procedures. Assist hygienists with sealant application and taking diagnostic X-rays. Prepare and assist during dental exams, ensuring all necessary materials and tools are ready for each procedure. Clinical Skills: Prepare rubber dams and operate the Iso-dry system to ensure optimal working conditions during procedures. Monitor and assist with Nitrous Oxide, oral sedation, and IV sedation during procedures to ensure patient comfort and safety. Assist with patient positioning and maintaining a sterile environment throughout procedures. Technology & Equipment Proficiency: Utilize Dentrix software for charting and patient records management. Operate Dexis X-ray software and the Nomad X-ray unit for diagnostic imaging. Set up and break down the diode laser for use by the dentist or hygienist. Patient Care & Education: Help guide and comfort pediatric patients before, during, and after procedures. Provide patients and parents with post-care instructions and ensure they are educated on oral health best practices. Qualifications: Required Skills & Experience: Proven experience as a dental assistant in a pediatric or general dentistry setting. Familiarity with rubber dam preparation, Iso-dry system, and working with Nitrous, oral sedation, and IV sedation. Proficient in using Dentrix and Dexis X-ray software systems. Comfortable using the Nomad X-ray unit. Knowledge of dental procedures, infection control practices, and sterilization techniques. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for working with children. Preferred Certifications (Not Required but Highly Preferred): Expanded certification in Nitrous Monitoring. Expanded certification in Sealant Placement. Expanded certification in Coronal Polishing. Working Conditions: This position requires a high level of patient interaction, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a positive, calm demeanor. Must be available to work flexible hours based on the needs of the practice. Maintain compliance with all applicable dental laws, regulations, and infection control standards. Why Join Us?
