Responsibilities Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to appointments to ensure accurate billing and reduce claim denials Review and process medical records, insurance claims, and billing documentation with precision and attention to detail Assist with insurance authorization requests, ensuring all necessary documentation is submitted promptly for procedures or treatments Utilize managed care knowledge to facilitate appropriate plan utilization and coordinate benefits effectively Maintain comprehensive records of insurance correspondence, claims status updates, and patient interactions in accordance with HIPAA regulations Collaborate with dental office staff to streamline office workflows related to insurance verification and billing processes Stay current on industry standards, including updates in medical terminology, coding practices, and insurance policies to ensure compliance and accuracy Qualifications Proven experience in a dental office setting with familiarity in insurance verification and billing procedures Strong knowledge of managed care plans and healthcare reimbursement processes Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality at all times Experience handling insurance claims processing and follow-up to resolve discrepancies efficiently Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment Office experience demonstrating proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems or similar software tools Nice-to-have Open Dental software Join us as an Insurance Coordinator and be part of a dedicated team committed to delivering outstanding healthcare experiences.
