Our surgical practice is looking for a surgical assistant. Hours of availability expected from the surgical assistant are: Monday-Thursday 7:30-5:00 pm Friday 7:30- noon Surgeries are Monday- Friday mornings Consultations are Mon-Thursday afternoons. We are looking for a person that is a quick learner and can move at a fast pace. During the mornings your duties would include: bringing the patient back, connecting monitors to patient, assist with starting IV, passing instruments, making sure room is ready for procedure, recovering with patient, wheeling patient to car, flipping the room, recording vitals and anesthesia given, scanning documents, and taking out the trash/biohazard when finished with procedures. During the afternoons you would see patients for consultations. You will go over treatment plan, consent, and give Rx's to patient. You will also schedule the patient if they are ready to. After consultations are finished you will prepare your surgical room for the first surgery in the morning. After the surgical rooms are set and your notes are completed you are finished for the day. So you may not always work until 5:00 pm. Start time can vary if we do not have an 8:00am surgery then you are only expected to arrive 30 minutes prior to the first surgery. Surgical experience is not a necessity for the right person! If you are eager to learn and not scared to be hands on we will teach you!
