Position Overview We are seeking a Lead Dental Assistant who will serve as the clinical backbone of our practice. This role goes beyond chairside assisting — you will oversee clinical flow, support the doctor, guide the assisting team, and ensure systems are executed at a high level. You are the “air traffic controller” of multi-column dentistry. Key Responsibilities Clinical Leadership Lead and train dental assistants Ensure clinical protocols and sterilization standards are followed Review and improve assisting workflows Conduct onboarding and skills development for new assistants Lab & Case Management Review lab cases upon arrival for accuracy Track outgoing lab cases and turnaround times Communicate with labs regarding remakes or adjustments Ensure cases are prepped and ready before patient appointments Supply & Inventory Management Monitor and order clinical supplies Maintain appropriate par levels Prevent over-ordering and reduce waste Coordinate with vendors for pricing and backorders Scheduling & Patient Flow Guide scheduling for productive, smooth clinical days Direct multi-column appointments to avoid bottlenecks “Direct traffic” between doctor, hygiene, and assisting team Ensure rooms are turned efficiently and prepared ahead of time Chairside Assisting Assist doctor in restorative, surgical, and cosmetic procedures Maintain strong clinical efficiency and anticipation skills Provide excellent patient care and comfort Qualifications Minimum 3+ years dental assisting experience Texas RDA required Experience in multi-doctor or multi-column practice preferred Strong knowledge of lab procedures and restorative workflows Ability to lead, coach, and hold team members accountable Highly organized with strong communication skills Comfortable taking initiative and solving problems Ideal Candidate Naturally takes ownership Thinks 3 steps ahead Calm under pressure Detail-oriented Systems-minded Wants to grow into long-term leadership Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly pay (based on experience) Leadership growth opportunity Paid time off Team bonuses CE support Supportive, growth-focused environment To Apply Submit your resume and a short paragraph explaining why you’d be a strong fit for a leadership role.
