Description
Job Summary We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental team. The Dental Assistant supports the dentist in providing high-quality patient care by performing clinical, administrative, and sterilization tasks. This role ensures smooth office operations, patient comfort, and compliance with infection control and safety standards. Key Responsibilities: Patient Care & Chairside Assistance Greet patients, escort them to treatment rooms, and make them feel comfortable Review/update medical/dental histories and take vital signs as needed Assist the dentist chairside during procedures (e.g., passing instruments, suctioning, mixing materials) Anticipate dentist needs and provide four-handed dentistry support Take dental radiographs (X-rays) Take impressions, digital scans, and prepare other materials for lab cases Provide postoperative instructions and oral hygiene education to patients Treatment Room & Infection Control Prepare and set up treatment rooms, trays, and instruments for procedures Sterilize, disinfect, and organize instruments/equipment following OSHA and CDC guidelines Maintain cleanliness and stock of operatories and sterilization areas Monitor and maintain dental equipment and emergency supplies Administrative & Office Support Perform basic front-office tasks when needed Update patient records, chart procedures, and maintain accurate documentation Manage inventory of dental supplies and order as needed Qualifications & Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required Graduation from an accredited dental assisting program preferred (or equivalent on-the-job training/experience) CPR certification required Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and infection control protocols Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered attitude Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multitask Basic computer skills (dental practice management software experience a plus) Work Environment & Physical Demands Full-time position in a professional dental office setting. Requires standing for extended periods, occasional lifting of supplies/equipment, and exposure to typical dental office conditions. Must follow all safety and infection prevention protocols.
