Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for patient care. Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners, while adhering to strict infection control and aseptic techniques. Manage patient records by updating medical documentation, medical records, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Support the front desk team by handling dental receptionist duties, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow seamlessly. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation to ensure comprehensive patient assessments. Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment following infection control protocols and ensuring all equipment is properly sanitized. Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry or pediatric dentistry practices. Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Open Dental is essential for managing medical records and documentation efficiently. Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and dental assisting procedures is required to support accurate communication and quality care. Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, anatomy knowledge related to oral structures, and proper use of X-ray equipment is necessary. Experience with dental imaging tools including 3D scanners and proficiency in taking radiographs is highly desirable. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
