Description
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Dental Assistant to join our team. This role requires in-depth knowledge of oral surgery procedures and implant dentistry. The ideal candidate is confident assisting in complex surgical cases, detail-oriented, and committed to providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment. Key Responsibilities: -Assist the dentist/oral surgeon during surgical procedures, including dental implant placement and advanced oral surgeries -Prepare and maintain sterile surgical environments, instruments, and equipment -Provide chairside support during procedures such as extractions, implant placement, bone grafting, sinus lifts, and full-arch restorations (e.g., All-on-X cases) -Assist with restoration of dental implants, including single-unit crowns and full-arch prosthetics -Monitor patient vital signs and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout procedures -Take and develop digital radiographs, CBCT scans, and intraoral images as needed -Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient instructions and education -Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of procedures -Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control protocols -Manage surgical inventory, ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels Qualifications: -High school diploma or equivalent required -Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or equivalent certification preferred (per state requirements) -Minimum of 3 years of experience in oral surgery or implant dentistry -Strong knowledge of surgical dental procedures, including: Dental implant placement and restoration (single units and All-on-X) Bone grafting techniques Sinus lift procedures Surgical extractions and site preservation Experience with digital imaging systems, including CBCT -Current CPR/BLS certification -Excellent communication and patient care skills -Ability to remain calm and focused in a surgical setting -Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Preferred Skills: -Experience with phlebotomy -Familiarity with guided implant surgery and digital workflows -Knowledge of dental practice management software Benefits: -Health and vision insurance -Annual dental allowance -Paid time off and holidays -401k plan options -Continuing education and training opportunities -Uniform allowance
