Description

We are seeking a dedicated, energetic, and dependable Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance while helping ensure smooth and efficient patient care in a fast-paced dental environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable working both clinical and some front-office duties as needed and is able to transition between assisting the dentist and supporting the front desk as needed. You will play an important role in maintaining infection control standards, managing patient records, supporting scheduling and insurance verification, and providing an excellent patient experience. Duties & Responsibilities Clinical Responsibilities * Assist the dentist during various general dentistry procedures. * Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental materials, and ensuring all equipment is properly prepared and functioning. * Take dental radiographs (X-rays) using proper techniques and following radiation safety and infection control protocols. * Assist with intraoral scanning and 3D scanning as needed. * Maintain proper aseptic techniques and infection control procedures throughout the dental office. * Properly sterilize, disinfect, and maintain dental instruments and operatories. * Prepare materials and instruments needed for dental procedures. * Take and record vital signs and medical information as needed. * Provide appropriate patient education regarding oral hygiene, post-treatment care, and treatment instructions. * Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in Open Dental, including medical history, treatment notes, and other patient information. * Follow HIPAA requirements and maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Front Desk & Administrative Responsibilities * Assist with managing the front desk and provide coverage as needed. * Greet and check in patients in a professional, friendly, and welcoming manner. * Check patients out after appointments and schedule or confirm future appointments. * Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with general questions. * Assist with patient registration, updating demographics, medical history, and insurance information. * Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in Open Dental. * Assist with appointment scheduling and keeping the schedule organized and efficient. * Maintain professionalism and a positive attitude when interacting with patients, doctors, and team members. Qualifications * Valid Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) certification/licensure and all required current credentials. * Previous experience working in a dental office, preferably in general dentistry. * Bilingual in English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate effectively with Spanish speaking patients. * Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control, and aseptic techniques. * Ability to safely operate dental X-ray equipment and follow radiation safety protocols. * Experience with intraoral scanners or 3D scanners is a plus. * Experience with Open Dental or similar dental practice management software is preferred. * Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy requirements. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Comfortable interacting with patients of all ages. * Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. * Reliable, punctual, organized, and able to work effectively as part of a team. * Experience with insurance verification, medical/dental records, and coding is a plus.
