What You'll Do

  • Present and coordinate comprehensive dental treatment plans with patients
  • Clearly explain recommended treatment, financial responsibilities, insurance benefits, and payment options
  • Assist patients with scheduling and coordinating treatment
  • Verify insurance benefits and eligibility
  • Prepare, submit, track, and follow up on dental insurance claims
  • Post insurance payments, patient payments, adjustments, and EOBs accurately
  • Work insurance aging and outstanding claims to help maintain a healthy A/R
  • Assist with treatment acceptance and follow-up on unscheduled treatment
  • Monitor outstanding treatment plans and help patients move forward with needed care
  • Assist the Practice Manager with daily administrative and operational responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and support to a small team and help maintain accountability
  • Assist with team training, workflow, and maintaining office standards
  • Help oversee and maintain OSHA and HIPAA compliance
  • Assist with employee onboarding, documentation, and office procedures
  • Help identify opportunities to improve efficiency, patient experience, and practice production
  • Step into a leadership role when the Practice Manager is unavailable
  • Serve as a positive example of professionalism, teamwork, accountability, and patient care

What You'll Bring

Required

  • Minimum 5+ years of dental office experience
  • Strong experience with dental treatment planning and case presentation
  • Extensive knowledge of dental insurance, claim submission, EOBs, and insurance follow-up
  • Experience with posting payments and managing patient/insurance accounts
  • Previous experience leading or supervising a small dental team
  • Strong understanding of dental office workflows and practice operations
  • Current OSHA and HIPAA training/certification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable discussing treatment and financial arrangements with patients
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced dental environment
  • Professional, dependable, and able to take initiative without constant direction
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Must be comfortable holding team members accountable while maintaining a supportive team environment

Preferred

  • Open Dental experience is a plus
  • Experience in a privately owned dental practice is preferred
