JOB SUMMARY:
The Assistant is a professional with a friendly attitude and the ability to multitask while assisting with Client oral care. This individual performs basic supportive Dental procedures specified by the state dental practice act and by rule of the Georgia board of dentistry

***Requirement:
Due to the nature of the High-risk patients PIHC treats and the liability in the Healthcare portion of care provided to patients, PIHC must require Covid Vaccination. Candidates not vaccinated or not willing to become vaccinated cannot be considered.
Summary of General Duties:
Helping with administrative tasks in the office such as scheduling and record-keeping
Preparing and taking X-rays and images of clients
Greeting clients upon arrival
Teaching and advising clients on proper oral hygiene and post operative care
Assisting the dentist with Dental procedures
Sterilizing equipment and following proper hygienic protocol
Managing the inventory of dental equipment and supplies
Assisting the Hygienist with procedures and charting as necessary.
Reviews the Hygienist / Doctors schedule and helps maintain client flow throughout the day.
Reviews the clients’ chart prior to patient care and doctor arrival and anticipates the Hygienist’s / Doctor needs for each client.
Sets up and prepares dental equipment and instrumentation in accordance with established regulations and guidelines.
Monitors hygiene / Doctor schedules and help to fill cancellations internally and through re-call.
Performs efficient and accurate procedures to help maintain the schedule and patient flow.
Provides excellent customer service to help ensure a smooth and comfortable visit for the client.
Cleans the client’s room after treatment.
Adheres to confidentiality, state, federal, and HIPPA laws and guidelines with regard to the client’s records.
Follows OSHA and company safety policies and procedures
Ensures treatment areas are fully stocked.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Position 1 Lead assistant must have expanded duties qualifications
Position 2 hygiene assistant must have dental assisting or hygiene assisting experience
Bilingual preferred
Experienced in working with culturally diverse populations
Must have great communication skills, (writing, spelling, listening, and speaking)
and interpersonal skills
Knowledge and understanding of good oral hygiene
Knowledge of various dental procedures and instruments
Ability to perform basic dental procedures such as coronal polishing, Imaging and radiography, dental impressions, and various Hygiene assisting procedures
Customer service skills
Ability to perform office management tasks such as scheduling appointments, and ordering supplies
Knowledge of dental technology
Excellent communication skills and organizational skills
Knowledge of Dentrix technology preferred
Digital Radiography certification required
Education and Experience:
Previous experience with HIV and/or Infectious Diseases is preferred. Dentrix experience is also preferred. High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of three years of Hygiene Assisting/ Assisting experience is required. Valid Certified Dental Assistant (CDA), Certification, and a current CPR Card. Radiology Certification Must be a graduate from a Dental Assisting Program approved by the State Board or approved training program.
