JOB TITLE: Clinical Assistant (Orthodontic Assistant) DEPARTMENT: Clinic SUMMARY: Oversee clinic organization, cleanliness and efficiency, while providing excellent patient care. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Establish and coordinate daily clinic flow. • Ensure appliances are ready, or arriving as planned, according to patient schedule. • Check that clinic equipment and instruments are clean, sterilized and ready for daily use. • Ensure all clinic employees and students are following PPE regulations and safety guidelines. • Organize clinic stock, restock and order supplies as necessary. • Daily sending and tracking of specialty labs and appliances. • Create and maintain stock of all patient kits. • Update patient charts, scans, etc. • Respond to patient emails, phone calls and correspondence as directed. • Responsible for taking all CBCT scans for patients. • Submit all lab prescriptions for the clinic. • Complete impression and fabrication of models. • Assist residents daily. • Performs other related duties as assigned by management. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: • This job has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS: • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), Certification in Dental Assisting, and 5 - 7 years' related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Computer skills preferred: Dolphin, OrthoFi, Microsoft Dynamics CRM; Microsoft Outlook & Excel. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: • Continually required to sit, utilize hand and finger dexterity and talk or hear. • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet • The employee must frequently lift and /or move 5-10 pounds. • Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop. • Occasionally work around fumes or airborne particles • Occasional exposure to bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. • Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Color vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
