Role Overview: As a Dental Assistant at Comfort Dental ATL, you will be a key member of our team, providing exceptional clinical support and compassionate care. You’ll assist our dentists and hygienists during procedures, ensure patient comfort, maintain strict infection control standards, and help manage the day-to-day operations of our dental office. Key Responsibilities: ~ Clinical Assistance Assist the Dentist or Hygienist during procedures: passing instruments, suctioning, and maintaining a clean and dry field. Prepare and explain treatment procedures to patients to ensure their comfort and understanding. Take, develop, and mount dental X-rays (valid Georgia X-ray certification required). Take impressions for models or restorations. Assist with suture removal. Perform basic lab procedures: pouring and trimming models, fabricating temporary crowns. Understand and apply fluoride treatments and sealants. Perform Core Packing procedures as instructed. ~ Patient Care Greet, seat, and prepare patients for treatment. Address patient concerns with empathy and professionalism. Provide detailed post-operative instructions and oral hygiene education. Assist in managing and responding to dental emergencies. ~ Infection Control & Sterilization Sterilize instruments and equipment following strict infection control protocols. Maintain a clean and sanitary operatory and clinical area. Adhere to OSHA and CDC safety and sterilization standards. ~ Administrative Support Accurately chart patient information, treatment plans, and progress notes. Monitor and manage dental supply inventory. Assist with ordering and stocking clinical supplies as needed. Requirements: Valid Georgia Dental X-ray Certification. Strong communication skills and a patient-first attitude. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and a commitment to infection control and safety.
