Forsyth Dental Partners is seeking an experienced assistant operations lead to join our team and serve as a key member of our leadership team. This position works directly alongside the Practice Manager and is considered a second-in-command role for the administrative team. ****This is NOT an entry-level position**** We are looking for a highly experienced dental professional with a minimum of 5 recent years of dental insurance experience in a general dentistal practice and advanced knowledge of Open Dental. Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of recent dental insurance experience in a general dental office Advanced proficiency with Open Dental Proficiency with Dental Intel and Weave Extensive knowledge of PPO insurance plans, claim submission, appeals, EOBs, insurance aging, and accounts receivable Thorough understanding of in-network and out-of-network insurance benefits Ability to confidently explain insurance benefits, limitations, and patient financial responsibility to both patients and team members Strong understanding of treatment planning and patient financial arrangements Excellent verbal and written communication skills Exceptional customer service and conflict-resolution abilities Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently while also supporting a team environment Responsibilities Manage insurance claims from submission through payment resolution Follow up on outstanding claims and work insurance aging reports Appeal denials and resolve insurance discrepancies Review and reconcile EOBs Verify benefits and assist with treatment plan estimates Educate patients on their dental benefits and financial responsibilities Confidently explain the differences between in-network and out-of-network coverage and reimbursement structures Serve as an insurance resource for the administrative and clinical teams Assist in training team members on insurance concepts, benefit breakdowns, and patient communication Communicate effectively with insurance carriers, patients, and team members Utilize Dental Intel to monitor performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement Utilize Weave for patient communication, texting, and call management Support front office operations and administrative workflows Answer incoming calls and assist with patient communication as needed Serve as a backup Treatment Coordinator when team members are out of the office Cross-train and assist other administrative team members when necessary Partner with the Practice Manager to improve systems, collections, and overall office performance What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is a seasoned dental professional who understands that insurance management is more than claim submission. The right person is comfortable having difficult conversations, can effectively explain insurance concepts in a way patients understand, and can help train and elevate the knowledge of the entire team. They are proactive, detail-oriented, dependable, and willing to jump in wherever needed to support the practice.
