ORAL SURGICAL ASSISTANT – Full-time

We are seeking a full-time Surgical Assistant for our Decatur office, who will carry out back-office duties to include preparing the patients, sterilizing instruments, setting up the rooms, To do well in this role you should have a dental x-ray certification and provide a great level of patient care. This position would require you to follow the surgeon between the two locations. Must be a team member who exhibits a positive and enthusiastic personality, is focused on exceptional customer service, and genuinely connects with patients, staff, and referring offices on a personal level. Assistant Responsibilities:
• Preparing patients for surgery and consultations.
• Assisting the oral surgeon during procedures such as dental implants, wisdom teeth removal, biopsy of the gingiva, and bone.
• Helping with infection control by sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up instrument trays, preparing materials, and assisting with procedures.
• Assisting in managing emergencies
• Providing exceptional patient care.
• Recording procedure notes, progress notes, and treatment information in patient records.
• Preparing dental x-rays and caring for dental x-ray
• Collecting and recording medical and dental histories and patient vital signs.
• Maintaining IV Fluid flows during procedures.
• Providing postoperative instructions as directed.
• Caring for surgical/dental equipment.
• Ordering supplies and maintaining dental equipment inventory.
Dental Assistant Requirements:
• Dental assisting program, Surgical Technology, or equivalent.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Consistently professional appearance and attitude.
• Able to provide great patient care.
