Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Oral Surgery Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care, assisting physicians in various oral surgery procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including taking vital signs and medical histories. Assist in various medical procedures. Utilize EMR systems such as OMSVision. Perform X-ray imaging and manage medical imaging tasks as required. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security. Collaborate with dental professionals to provide comprehensive care in general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics. Implement infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment. Educate patients on treatment plans, dental terminology, and preventive care practices. Manage dental clinic operations effectively while providing exceptional customer service. Skills Strong knowledge of medical terminology, dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices. Competence in taking vital signs and conducting basic medical assessments. Familiarity with medical coding and managing medical records is a plus. Strong communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members effectively.
