Your primary worksite will be Alexandria, Burke, Centreville, Reston, or Woodbridge, and travel between locations may be required. Surgical Assistant / Dental Assistant – Oral Surgery Fairfax Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery is a growing, multi-location specialty practice seeking a full-time Surgical Assistant. You will help deliver safe, efficient care in procedures such as extractions, dental implants, biopsies, and IV anesthesia. This is a hands-on clinical role with real responsibility and strong opportunities for advancement. Responsibilities Seat and prepare patients; review medical histories and take vital signs Take dental radiographs (once certified) and confirm required imaging Set up operatories and assist surgeons during procedures Monitor patients during surgery and recovery Provide post-operative instructions and discharge with surgeon approval Clean, sterilize, and turn over rooms and instruments following OSHA and infection-control standards Maintain stocked treatment rooms and report equipment issues Complete accurate clinical documentation Travel between offices as needed Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Dental assisting or healthcare experience preferred BLS certification within 30 days of hire HIPAA certification within 30 days Radiation safety certification required for advancement Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs Pay & Benefits Hourly compensation based on experience, with potential to earn up to $37/hour Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with employer match Paid time off and holidays Uniform allowance Growth opportunities in a multi-location surgical group Schedule Full-time, Monday–Friday No nights No weekends In person Job Type: Full-time Benefits: 401(k) matching Dental insurance Flexible schedule Flexible spending account Health insurance Health savings account Paid time off Travel reimbursement Vision insurance Work Location: In person
