What You'll Do
- Chairside assisting during general and specialty dental procedures
- Preparing treatment rooms and ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready before procedures begin
- Breaking down and disinfecting operatories according to infection-control standards
- Taking high-quality digital X-rays and intraoral images
- Assisting with digital impressions and intraoral scanning
- Taking impressions when needed
- Preparing temporary restorations as permitted
- Assisting with crowns, bridges, restorative procedures, extractions, implants, periodontal procedures, and other dental treatments
- Preparing patients for treatment and helping explain what they can expect during their visit
- Reviewing postoperative instructions and answering basic patient questions
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and assisting the doctor with complete chart notes
- Monitoring laboratory cases and helping ensure they are received and ready prior to patient appointments
- Sterilizing instruments and maintaining sterilization logs and systems
- Keeping clinical supplies stocked, organized, and properly rotated
- Identifying supply needs before they become urgent
- Helping maintain dental equipment and immediately reporting problems
- Assisting with room turnover so the clinical schedule stays on time
- Communicating effectively with the front office regarding treatment, scheduling needs, follow-up care, and patient concerns
- Helping maintain a clean, organized, efficient clinical environment
- Supporting other team members whenever needed

Preferred
- Previous dental assisting experience
- Texas Registered Dental Assistant certification
- Current radiology certification as required by Texas
- Knowledge of dental terminology and common dental procedures
- Experience with digital radiography
- Experience with intraoral scanning
- Experience assisting with surgical, implant, or periodontal procedures
- Familiarity with dental practice-management software
- Strong communication and organizational skills
