Oral Surgery Coordinator
The DFW/FDSO Oral Surgery Coordinator manages the oral surgery program in the
DFW region along with supporting the FDSO’s remotely. They work closely with
patients, families, the oral surgeon and regional manager to build oral surgery
days in 3 different practices; Lewisville, Plano and Grand Prairie. They travel
to these three different practices on oral surgery days to oversee and manage
the program. Currently, there are 5 oral surgery days a month happening in the
DFW region. The FDSO’s that are being added will also have the support of the
Oral Surgery Coordinator remotely.
In addition to managing the oral surgery days on site, the oral surgery
coordinator is responsible for working closely with patients, the practice, the
dentist and Medicaid and insurance companies to build the oral surgery schedule
for each oral surgery day. This includes making phone calls, submitting pre-
authorizations and communicating with patients what to expect in an oral surgery
The Oral Surgery program is growing and expanding. This is a great opportunity
for someone who is highly motivated and wants to work independently. The oral
surgery coordinator will play a key and vital role in delivering needed services
to our patient base as well as expanding those services to new practices.
Education: High School graduate or equivalent preferred. Bachelor’s degree in a
health related field or business preferred.
Experience: A minimum of one (1) years’ experience in a health care or practice
Additional Requirements: May be required to work flexible hours. Bilingual in
English and Spanish is required.
THE ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
Work closely with patient, practice and dentist to build oral surgery schedule.
Travel to practices on scheduled oral surgery days
Explain insurance benefits and limitations, out of pocket expenses and financing
options with the patient and/or parent(s) after the exam.
Explain payment options offered at the practice such as Care Credit; assist in
the application process if necessary, and submit for approval by the provider.
Uses salesmanship and established rapport to get case acceptance, ensuring that
we take care of the patient's chief complaint.
Answer any questions about the treatment to be performed and any follow-up
questions or concerns that the patient might have before and after the
Accurately complete the consent forms and get parental approval before treatment
Process patients being referred to a specialist either in house or outside;
ensure that the appointment is setup and the patient has all the necessary
information needed to get to their appointment.
Handle routine customer service issues including billing, explanation of benefit
questions, and financial information concerning the cost of treatments.
Confirm patient insurance.
Process payments and ledger entries.
Set up in-house payment plans with the approval of the Office Manager and debit
accounts according to the agreement setup with the patient or parent.
Help manage the patient schedule in the system; Confirms appointments and
reminds patient of appointment.
Make scheduling decisions independently concerning treatment follow-ups or

Attend all mandatory company in-services and staff development activities as
Adhere to company standards concerning conduct, dress, attendance and
Support company-wide quality/performance improvement goals and objectives.
Maintain confidentiality of company employees and patient information.

machine noise typical for business office atmosphere.
