Job Summary Practice is a 5 year single doctor general dental practice, with a majority millennial patient population. Seeking an experienced dental hygienist who excels in friendliness, with attention to comfort and precision of care. Our team, equipment and protocols are carefully selected and consistently fine- tuned to grow with the practice in harmony, efficiency and clinical care. Responsibilities and Duties: Accurate and precise attention to detail Excellent understanding of dental hygiene procedures Compassionate and caring of patients Knowledge of aseptic and sterilization techniques Excellent written and verbal communication skills Able to work in an intense, concentrated environment Calm and cool tuned to grow with the practice in harmony, efficiency and clinical care. Qualifications and Skills: Licensed to practice in state of Texas. X-Ray Certification: Meet all local and state requirements to operate radiography equipment Understanding of standard practices and procedures Good interpersonal skills and communication Completes dental prophylaxis by cleaning deposits and stains from teeth and from beneath gum margins. Detects disease by completing oral cancer screening; feeling and visually examin examining gums; using probes to locate periodontal disease and to assess levels of recession; exposing and developing radiographic studies. Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drugs and oxygen supply, and directory of emergency numbers Educates patients by giving oral hygiene and plaque control instructions and postoperative instructions; providing reminders of time of next dental hygiene visit. Documents dental hygiene services by recording vital signs and medical and dental histories; charting in patient records. Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
