Description
Saturday Part-time position for experienced, mature dental hygienist with enthusiasm and motivation to be part of a team. Must have great people skills, ability to understand and assist diagnose dentistry. Experienced only. This is a 6 location private practice (Dallas, Grand Prairie, Irving, Garland), located inside of Parkland Hospital Community Health Centers, this is not a corporate clinic. We strive to provide high quality services to each of our patients in the community. Job Duties and Requirements: * Prepare treatment room for patients by adhering to prescribed procedures and protocols * Assist in providing a welcoming environment for all patients * Collect medical and dental histories from patients * Maintain instrumentation for dental hygiene treatment by sharpening, sterilizing, and selecting instruments * Complete dental prophylaxis by cleaning deposits and stains from teeth and from beneath gum margins * Document dental hygiene services recording conditions based on oral screenings & evaluations; charting in patient records * Perform and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) * Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations * Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies * Performs other duties as required Education/Certification: * High School Diploma or equivalent required * Graduation from an accredited school of dental hygiene * State of Texas RDH requiredCurrent BLS CPR certification * Certification for other duties as required by the State Practice Act * Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training * Knowledge and experience with Denticon and Apteryx a plus * Excellent working knowledge of overall dentistry and dental hygiene procedures * Nitrous oxide certification a plus * Bilingual a plus Skills/Abilities: * Excellent positive attitude and customer service skills * Professionalism and integrity in all aspects of job, including image and both verbal and written communication skills * Possess exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills, including conflict resolution skills * Strong organization, planning and analytical skills * Ability to multi-task and remain calm in a rapidly changing environment * Computer proficiency and the ability to learn new programs as required * punctuality is essential * Professional presentation is essential Work environment/Conditions: * Overtime required as approved by Supervisor * Travel as needed for training and to perform job functions * Safety procedures and personal protective equipment required to minimize the risks from radiographs and blood-borne pathogens * Potential of prolonged sitting and standing Work days are Saturdays : 9:30am to 2:30pm We plan to expand hygiene into weekdays as we continue to grow the practice Hourly pay: $38-40 If you believe you would be a good fit for our practice, we would love to hear from you!
