Dr. Christopher Cooley has a fun, boutique dental practice in Germantown, TN seeking a self-motivated and experienced Dental Assistant that will also float to the Front Desk. Our practice strives for great patient care and excellent dentistry. We provide general dentistry with a niche in cosmetic cases. The majority of our staff has been with the practice for 10+ years and we strive to affirm their work and provide a positive atmosphere. To learn more about Christopher Cooley DDS, please visit; https://www.cooleydds.com/ ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures Capturing quality dental radiographs (x-rays) Ensuring patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment Enthusiastically greet and welcome patients to the practice upon check-in Scheduling, rescheduling, or cancelling appointments as needed Assisting patients with filling out necessary forms Preparing patient charts and daily schedules for the dental staff Updating patient records and documenting recent treatment procedures as necessary Communication with medical and dental insurance providers to determine a patient’s benefits Verifying and collecting co-payments Balance nightly deposits and complete credit card processing Performing general office duties assigned by the Office Manager OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Carryout infection control protocol- preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment Providing patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, as directed by Doctor With the direction of the Dentist, educations patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health; (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling) Taking impressions of patients teeth for study casts Enthusiastic communication with patients and suppliers (e.g., scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, billing and ordering supplies as directed by Office Manager) REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent Dental Assistant Certificate where state regulations specify X-Ray Certification where state regulations specify Prior Experience with a dental management software - Dentrix preferred QUALIFICATIONS Excellent interpersonal skills Proven dedication to provide high quality, comprehensive chair-side care Ability to comply with safety procedures, rules, and regulations in order to maintain a clean and safe working environment Strong working knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, and practices PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: General Office Activities as Required Good manual dexterity Bend or twist their body.
