Description

We are looking for a part-time Dental Hygienist to help out our busy practice for 2 days a week. The Ideal Candidate: • Active hygiene license required • Be friendly and truly caring of others. We are blessed to have a wonder group of patients who are a pleasure to work with! Must be able to connect on a personal level and converse with patients, take interest in them and their lives outside the office. • Proficient time management skills • Have a good communication skills regarding perio and dental treatment needs • Ability to be thorough and proficient in treatment detail • Enjoy working at a fast pace and the stamina to meet the physical demands of the job • Be reliable and able to build trust with patients as well as staff • Selflessly help other team members when needed especially when not asked Responsibilities • Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination • Maintain, Sterilize and Prepare dental instruments properly • Properly set up and breakdown their operatories • Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history • Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis • Clean and help protect patients’ teeth (e.g. remove plaque or apply fluoride, sealants) • Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques) • Give instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures • Take X-rays or dental impressions • Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer) • Maintain documentation and charts on each patient • Answering phones and scheduling patients • Monitor supplies and equipment COVID-19 precautions • Of course, we follow COVID protocols and have gone the extra mile of having extraoral aerosol devices installed in every operatory along with: • Personal protective equipment provided • Temperature screenings • Social distancing guidelines in place • Sanitizing, disinfecting, or cleaning procedures in place
