CAN Community Health the 2nd largest provider of HIV Services in the United States is expanding. We will begin offering dental services at our clinic in Arlington, TX this spring. We are looking for a dental provider who is truly compassionate about assisting the underserved and the needs of patients impacted by HIV, Hep C, and other sexually transmitted diseases. Statement of Purpose: Dentist, Full-time This position is responsible for the provision of dental care to HIV patients and for the documentation thereof and the supervision of assigned personnel. Primary Responsibilities: 1. Delivers direct patient care to patients as assigned, using established dental procedures; performs treatment procedures 2. Documents assessments and plans in medical records 3. Participates in patient education 4. Diagnose symptoms of HIV and other disease states, develops and implements individualized dental care plans for patients, 5. Initiates, formalizes, and implements dental protocols 6. Educates and communicates the process of HIV disease and its treatment 7. Recruits, hires, orients, trains, supervises, evaluates, and discharges all assigned staff. 8. Work with and communicate with Specialists by referring to Endodontists, Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons. 9. Ensures confidentiality is maintained by entire team regarding patient/client information in accordance with HIPAA, professional and departmental standards. 10. Promotes and practices CAN Community Health, Inc.s mission and values and follows its policies and procedure. Secondary Tasks: 1. Attends and participates in community meetings as appropriate 2. Evaluates, revises and implements dental services policies Responsible To: SR Vice President, Strategic Implementation and Corporate Compliance, Chief Compliance Officer Requirements Knowledge, Abilities and Skills Required: 1. Skilled in use and interpretation of digital radiographs 2. Knowledge of sterilization techniques 3. Knowledge of OSHA requirements 4. Effective communication skills 5. Visual and auditory acuity 6. Possess ability to utilize problem-solving techniques Education/Professional: D.D.S. or DMD, Current Texas Dental License Valid driver’s license Physical Requirements: Neat, professional appearance. MEDIUM- Exerts up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs of force constantly, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Involves sitting, standing and walking throughout the shift. Requires expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken word, visual and auditory acuity.
